Difference between LAN and Loopback. Empty Difference between LAN and Loopback.

Post by iSnipes Fri Jul 13, 2012 10:40 pm

Okay, so I've read many many threads upon the disconnection or unable to start client issue. The responses to those threads have been getting more and more redundant and it seems that many of you users, you know who you are, think that LAN and Loopback are the samething. YOU ARE WRONG. Here's the difference;

LAN(Local Area Connection) is for DIRECT CONNECTION to your ROUTER/MODEM. If you use this, you DO NOT want to disable this Ethernet adapter. This adapter is AUTOMATICALLY disabled if no Ethernet cable is connected from both ends. So, no need to disable this.

Microsoft Loopback Adapter is for LAN and Wi-Fi Connections. It basically relays your connection to keep your internet stable. You mainly find these on early Windows XP and Windows Vista computers. And sometimes on Windows 7 computers as well. Due to the new lines of computers being processed now, and with the beta of Windows 8, the Loopback adapters are starting to become obsolete, therefore useless. In other words, it fucks up almost anything that requires over 70% of internet connection to function properly. If you have this installed, please disable and leave it disabled AT ALL TIMES. This adapter is not needed anymore. This should solve most problems connecting to private servers, or any game for that matter.

--For all those who think you're smart with technology, think again and try not to make yourself look like a jackass. Research the information before responding to something. That is what Google and Bing is for. USE IT.
