Scamming(Read First) Empty Scamming(Read First)

Post by Mercy Fri May 25, 2012 8:59 pm

I have recently got scammed a second time, and lost a second sasuke item. I know you all think im stupid. Yes, I admit i was, but only the first time around. I believe that scamming is a problem, and it is very easy to do,and making it not a rule or GMs' not caring. Ill forget the first time,it was totally my fault. However during the second one, i asked a GM to spectate. Ender volunteered, and i thanked him. The scammer was Sogetsu, i asked to exchanged his naruto set for my sasuke set, he was like let me wear it and see. I said sure(since Ender was watching). Then he returned it, and said ok lets trade. I said ok, he said you drop the mark first."Ok..."I said. Just then the server was starting to lag like crazy. When i logged back on, he claimed to have dropped the mark. Ender said he was lagging and only saw a bit of it, not him dropping it. So i said Ender why cant u just !copy and see if he has it, you were watching. He said i cant..blah blah blah.Gave me the Gm cant do that. Then he said even if we watch it and he scams you,it doesnt matter, we GM's cant do anything about it. He said your getting butthurt over 1/2 items. Im like "umm last time i checked 2 of those items are 10$, and for a game thats a lot especially when you just lose it over a scam. He then muted me and gave me another speech, i listened.{GM}Android also was in this and listened throughout.

I do think scamming is a problem and should be held my GM's. But if they cant, then make items that need to be dropped, able to be traded on a trade request, that way theres no scamming ,at all. Ender and Android didnt even attempt to help. I asked, can you talk to Alpha about this?He said no way, do it yourself, itll be easy to contract him for you because your a GM. Ender said i dont care, its your problem. If scamming isnt a rule or anything, then khaos will be chaotic because no trade could be trusted. I hope all you players are with me,imagine it. If everyone knew scamming isnt wrong, then they could do it. Every uncareful donation item or any item would be lost or scammed away. I did what Gm_Cynthia said, have a GM watch over, well it useless, Ender said even if i did see it,i wouldnt have been able to do anything. Thats a lie,he could have asked Alpha, if he was able to retrieve my item back. Yes scamming is our own problem, and we should only trust who you know, but that would narrow ppl that you would trade with to like 1-10 at the most.

I would like to hear brandon and george's side of the story.

Just one side of the story isn't enough.

I want to hear the ENTIRE story.

I would rather hear the other sides of the story rather than threatening to ban him just so he will return the item.

Im not even going to read this, just going to place my side of the story and what I know about our regulations o-e

I went off to watch a trade I saw Sogetsu and this person discussing what they are going to trade for his curse mark or something, the server started lagging, it unlagged one time for a minute and they were talking again. Im not sure if they had started a trade at all but after that minute it lagged again and my account got stuck, I couldnt unstuckme or use the website, so I waited about 10 minutes. When I could get on and went on my character noone was in that map, then I saw this person come in, tell me he had been scammed, and that kinda sums it up lol.

As for our rules, I remember Alpha saying GMs dont associated with scams, if you get scammed its your own fault, and we cannot compensate for your lost items. He claims he has proof he was scammed, but even so I dont think Alpha will care, as said, its your own fault.
Thats all I know lol

Perhaps we should have a moral obligation to defend players from scams, but that's up for debate....

Just goes to show that nothing is gauranteed. We can have immortal go in and just take the item from sogetsu and give it back.

Either sogetsu has it or he doesn't.

Scams are listed under responsibility. It's your responsibility to place care under your possessions, not the higher-ups, meaning that your loss is caused by your actions, that is, your fault.

Trust no one.

Trust no one, meaning never trade at all?Thats a good way to prevent scamming, sure sure i agree. But how the fuck are you going to play with no profit, get a wb ring u gotta keep it,want to get some chix, you cant?,want to sell items for chix, you cant ,whats the point of playing this game with no trust, trust is very important. As mentioned my my earlier post.

P.S~Leave Android of of this,he was only there when me and Ender were talking.
P.S.S~Thank you Uitaka

That was a failure due to the server lagging, not my fault, neither your fault.

Sure it's important for trading purposes. What I meant was you can't assume everyone's legit before you know them properly. Scammers are everywhere on the Net and trusting people to the minimal level is a safe way to go. Better safe than sorry.
I would also like to add that the trading system in this game is working perfectly to prevent scams (unless you're a total fool). The problem here is the ability to make trades with NX and Untradeable (but droppable) items. Fix that and there's your problem solved.

When? Or if? I'm a responsible person and I don't complain or get attached to material possessions (or whatever it's called on the Internet). I keep my trust to a minimum and I've never been scammed before.

from this point on let's take it a step further and say that if GMs choose to oversee an important trade, both players will stand on opposite sides of the map, one drops their item, the GM collects it, the other guy drops the item, the GM collects it, then gives each other the exchanged items. make sense?

I see, a middleman. It's a great idea but GMs are busy and they aren't always around to do that sort of business.
