Help me in Choosing

Note: I am currently using GIMP not Photoshop. I do not have Photoshop downloaded at the moment.
I'm new at the whole picture construction thingy.

Hello guys, I have just started using GIMP to created various pics of mine. I have just finished making these two pics, but I don't know which one should I post as my current signature.
So what I'm seeing is that if you could decide which one looks better.

TBH. Both are raped by effects. Quality goes down. That's bad. Keep it tasteful. But yeah. I'd say i prefer the first one because the second one is just quality rape.
