Well Meowth does say his name at the end of his sentences, maybe he was named after that? Unless he chose that as his name. Can you imagine anything else though? (That's right, AGUMO- Oh wait....)

You also need to consider the rest of the Meowths in the pokéworld. Those ones can't talk. It's just that this thing's the result of radiation poisoning some weird mutation.

Well that technically is an exception, they created Mew first, and mewtwo is a result of the same experiment that they changed up a bit. So... mewtwo makes sense.

But if you think about it, it doesn't apply to legendaries, cuz then half of them would be named "RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAHWWWWWWWWG". F3
