How to disable Loopback Adapter Windows XP , Windows Vista , Windows 7
Windows XP:
1. Open My Computer.
2. Right Click on My Computer, followed by clicking Properties.
3. By default General Tab displayed.
4. Click on Hardware Tab -> Device Manager.
5. Click + near Network Adapters.
6. Click On Microsoft Loopback Adapter, followed by click delete button.
7. Confirmation pop up, choose OK
Windows Vista / Windows 7:
1. Open My Computer.
2. Right click on My Computer, followed by clicking Properties.
3. Click on Change Settings.
4. By default General Tab displayed.
5. Click on Hardware Tab -> Device Manager.
6. Click + near Network Adapters.
7. Click On Microsoft Loopback Adapter, followed by click delete button.
8. Confirmation pop up, choose OK

But it isn't specific. This is more specific.

This is specific but not really much. Some PCs have different settings and pop-ups as others. Exp's thread was vague because not all OS systems are a like, he made it basic so that all OS can follow it.
