EVERYTHING CLASHES SO HARD, IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY.Try blending more colours, i use GIMP too. Just instead of just merging down layers, just duplicate your current image, blur it around a bit with the vine tool and set layer setting to overlay, and opacity to 60, then merge down and save as a png. Simple. Check below my signature if you want to see more of my work for reference.

I like that background but as Zalen says everything clashes.

thanks!
I really appreciate you guys not being, well.... pricks about it.
I actually expected a whole lot worse since I haven't had any kind of work with Gimp in a long time. I actually haven'd had it downloaded in ages. But I really appreciate it.
Also, I believe I used to run into this problem even back then when I had some experience behind me. I'd be really interested in learning how to get over my clash issues.
I understand the concept of blending and even blurring... but what should I do to really make everything look natural.
That is, after all, the goal right? Make everything look like it belongs?
Here is one I did recently...
Uhm, I used a little bit of my own knowledge but modeled it after a pic I seen in Google Images.
Tell me if it blends a little bit better, and If not, tell me why and what I can do to improve.
