HARSH CRITICISM, USE IT!
Hello guys, I am making this thread because I have seen people rage
quitting from harsh criticism. A lot of people misunderstood those harsh
criticism rules. They thought it meant trash talk into people's work.
It's really not, it means good and long criticism or only good
criticism. Harsh criticism is the best thing in the world to make people
improve, leaving the flaws behide.
Harsh CnC is Constructive Criticism that goes into depth of the person's work.
It highlights the flaws and mistakes of a piece of work. It makes the
creator realize what he/she has done wrong, and encourages him/her to
try to resolve the flaws. People mostly use Harsh CnC because it's quick
and simple. You tell the creator right on what's wrong with the piece
of work. You won't have to baby him/her into thinking there's a flaw in
it. I hope people notice that we, the critics, are not trying to shoot
you down, we are trying to help you to become better. What's the point
of improving if you can't even spot your flaws that needs fixing? That's
why we're here to make sure you know where your flaws are and actually,
learn from your mistakes.
You guys need to understand how this criticism type works. Do not deny it,
let it help you to improve. If you want regular criticism or nothing at
all, just tell us. It won't help you to improve if you didn't get any
criticisms anyway.
We are not trying to be mean to you,
Amen.

LOL
You actually added the Amen. XD
I hope we're all catholics here.
On a srs note, I hope everyone acknowledges this thread, and think about the next time someone harshly cnc's on their work.

Can you give examples of what constitutes harsh CnC?

"Your animation / sprite sucks"
"this is so ugly "
"this doesn't deserve to be here"
"your shading is fucked up"
but the good cnc is when people redo your sprite/animation/art or more to see exactly you made mistake.
(Advanced knowledge person does that to alot of people)

All my approval goes to this message. Harsh/constructive criticism is ment to actually HELP you with flaws you have, if you get positive feedback without what's wrong all the time, then you will never ever improve.

To be honest,it is good to be harsh at times, and you certainly should be harsh as it will teach you,why do you think you have teachers in the first place?
But however,it depends on how you're criticizing that person in the end in my opinion, when rating a signature you're expose to bring out as much positives and negatives as possible, most people just bring out the negatives and think they're so great themselves,I believe this is true but it has two sides to it.
