Personally, it reminds me of a video game soundtrack; I can't remember which it is exactly but it sounds eerily familiar but other than that, it's good.

The beat that seems to be re-used a lot gets boring after a while, not sure if that is what you intended by monotonous, but still, it can be improved.

Just adding my 2cents on it.

It's supposed to repeat itself, since I intend on using it for an animation that looks like a 16-bit game.
