Can't advance to the thief 2nd job!

Hello, I just started trying out this server and started on a thief job. Sadly the thing is that when I want to advance to the 2nd job (bandit) and go to give the Dark Lords letter to the thief job instructor, the job advancement doesn't work like it should:
1: When I kill the creatures inside the area, I get no dark marbles, which are crucial for completing the task.
2: When I double-click on the Thief Job Instructor inside the area, I just DC out and when I connect again, I spawn in Kerning city with the letter for the thief job instructor.

I could really use some help, this Server looks really nice.
