I'm just saying.
Surprised there's no arguments here about Politics, I'd love to talk about that stuff.

Depends on the country people live in. Remember how we're a community of players from around the world? I like the idea, but it might be messy due to the differences in politics.الذئب wrote:I'm just saying.

While we're on the subject, check out Nexon's latest derp:
Nexon's attempting to get it's playerbase more interested in the elections... How nice.

But the thing is half the people don't know anything about politics, so they just vote for whatever random person they want.Knives wrote:Depends on the country people live in. IMO, I'm a democratic, so I vote for Obama or Biden, since I'm an immigrant..
Yes yes, i feel like the ecconomy is some sort fked up, but I'm only a student atm, but once I get into college, I'l have to focus on politics..
I think politics is the most interesting thing to talk about that's related to social studies, find it actually pretty interesting..
Just hoping the democratic party wins o_o

Re: No Politics?
Well politics can be quite interesting provided that
If you and your discussion partner can keep these two points, especially the first one in mind. Then it can be a really enjoyable issue to talk about
- you're not caught in its line of fire (as in you keep your head levelled)
- the person you're having a civilised conversation with don't jump off the deep end and starting going in the wrong direction

Re: No Politics?
I gave up on politics because no matter what view I personally have, the whole U.S. makes the vote for the worst. We're going downhill and people dunno how to read between the lines and they fall for the lies spilled out of the politicians mouth so easily. People these days just dunno what they're doing anymore, it's all about wealth and power to them, not the people.

I think that's what most of the people how have an ounce of wisdom would do darling, but still it doesn't stop us from voicing our opinion why we think they can be such a disk

Re: No Politics?
I have just remembered my geometry teacher telling my class something interesting about the U.S. last week.
Mr. Brown wrote:Contrary to what any of your history teachers might tell you, America is in a state that is worse than the Great Depression. No matter what way you look at it, we're screwed. The homeless are staying in crappy homes due to the government giving them shelter until they can get back up again. Sure, the idea seems nice, but in reality, it's screwing up our debt even more. It really doesn't matter who you vote for, anyways. Neither side can save us from our crumbled state of debt. I'd love to see one of them come up with a way to repair this $56 trillion+ debt we're drowning in. Also, think of the taxes. Of all taxes being paid, over 50% of that is being paid by middle-class families. 3% of those taxes... are from the rich. The potentially wealthy only pay 3% of taxes, while the rest of us pay tons more. Like I said, I hope they can come up with a functional plan. Otherwise, we'd be neck-deep in a "Greater Depression" for a while.

Re: No Politics?
Knives, your teacher strikes me as a conservative.
Sam, I don't think we will be adding any new sections to the forum, but please feel free to make political threads. You can bet your ass that I'll show up and give my 2 cents.
Guys, if you're able to vote, then vote! I don't care who you vote for, just uphold your civic duty! Every vote does count, don't get trapped into the 'prisoner's dilemma' way of thinking.
I reckon most of the forum here will be liberal but that's just cuz we're a pretty young demographic. Would like to see a conservative here and there, though.

I'm not even American, and I voted for Obama, because of Bill Clinton's speech.

The worst part is that I have no idea who I'll vote for this year (since I turn 18 and all). I just hope one of the two bring up something useful.

Useful and practical are like brothers, who are the closest of kin; but at the same time the farthest of strangers. Not every bills/laws that are passed, are useful; and likewise not every bill/law passed are practical. Very rarely would you find any single bill which IS useful and at the SAME time practical

well we're pretty much constituents of Obama since he's passing bills that cut down the cost of college and extending student loans and whatnot. what has Romney done for me, a college student? fuckin jack shit.

Re: No Politics?
I don't really like Romney as well, his words seem so ephemeral. First he promised to repeal the healthcare law, now he said he'll keep it; I wonder what else would he do? From my point of view his talk are cheap, without principal; he'll just jump in the bandwagon so that he'll be elected

Re: No Politics?
IMO, Romney aint going anywhere with his words..
I would just go straight for the democratic party . Go elephants o_o
Anyways, I still have a few years to college, but within the 4 years, I'll probably be in college, Obama on the other hand, made a law a while ago, that all people/students who stay in American for 5+ years , I think it was 5 years get a green card, which benefits me to getting a better scholarship, since then before when Obama WASNT a president, it was a pain to get one, So , I just think Obama is the better deal in this election.. And I'm never a fan of the republican party, since the goverment has control over all the money.
Please do not argue with me , since I aint able to vote yet, and this is just a little convo bout politics.

Don't be afraid to go toe to toe with people who disagree with you, stand up for what you believe in!
All the information is on the internet, so if you ever need to inform yourself, simply google stuff like "obama's stance on x" or romney's stance on x. what they've done for the economy, etc.

If I have to say, Obama actually made quite the difference, if only his hands weren't tied down so much. I can't say about his military exploits though, but he does good for the general masses

I think he's gonna win this election. Romney is not a very relatable candidate, and you can forget about the third parties.

Although American politics begins to annoy me, I like European politics. But I tend to stray in Gulf/Israeli politics and conflicts.
Considering the fact I am Palestinian, I take these issues very high. I like y'all. You know how to make conversation interesting.

Since when has anyone really paid any attention to the third parties; seriously. Every time there's an election we tend to focus on the two big wigs duke it out; from intelligent conversation, to embarrassing moments where either one of them left gaping, to the disastrous scandals of their private lives. No one really gives 2 cents about the small fries swimming among them.
Romney losing his cool
Romney making a spectacular fool of himself and embarrassing the very nation his trying to be the president of

I almost died laughing when I read that column, I still have it in my scrapbook of political jokes and humour.

2000 when Ralph Nadar took a sizeable chunk of Gore's voter base.
And I forget the year when Ross Perot or whatever his name was, he also got a a lot of votes as a third party candidate. Would have been great if he won.
