Don't wait for Photoshop, or any other professional program, start with what you have.
Just because you have MS Paint doesn't necessarily mean your things will always come out bad.

I'm lovin' how you named me first even though I'm not an official GFX for the server XDiMars wrote:Hello ChaoserZ ... I use Paint.NET. It's not a website. Well, it is. But the program isn't. Paint.NET is kinda easy to use, and requires very little knowledge to make basic things. Hell, even I don't use the few advanced features all that often. Whatever you want to know, I'll tell you (although it would be a better idea to ask the official GFX people).

As what willi said, work with what you got first. If you are asking about software, i mainly use Photoshop CS4 and SAI in which i wont really recommend using photoshop unless you are keen on in spending time to learn how to use the software. (even i barely know the basics XP)
For maple spriting rules its pretty much the standard 1 pixel border, which will take some time to get used to. For more rules you should message Barkey since i dont always follow the rules
Practice is always the most important thing. Feel free to show us your creations in the future

Re: Need a little help :)
The program has nothing to do with the skill of the artist.
Think of it like this: In Maplestory, as you become stronger, you need better weapons to accommodate for your new strength. In much the same way, as one improves their skills as an artist, the programs they use become more sophisticated to accommodate for their skills, and allow them to create more beautiful images.
Without thee programs they use, their images would reach a point where detail and beauty are actually hurt by the lack of sophistication of their program. This is much like using a beginner one-handed sword on a level 120 character; It is a bad idea.
If I were you, I would start with pencil and paper, but if you really want to do Computer-aided GFX, start with ms paint. Most people underestimate it, but MS paint is godly.

I forgot to mention the special thing you could do with Paint.NET. Should you know everything it has to offer, and want to make even greater things without changing programs, you can visit the official website's forums to browse downloadable plugins for it. These are all made by the community, and in most cases come very helpful to the rising GFX artist.

photoshop is a great program if you understand how it works...
I say, just start with what you know and what you're comfortable with...
If you want to use photoshop, be my guest.... just look up a few tutorials and you'll get know to program slowly but surely.
I learned to work with photoshop because of school and I personally think it's a great program and it gives you a lot of freedom to model and draw... but I'd try to work with SAI if I had a windows pc XD
