Server Status?

So, is the server down, did it get nexon'd? I was informed the other day that the server has shut down and I'm not that sure anymore.

It has not shut down. Alpha is just changing up the Dedicated Server.

The latest news suggests we're coming back in an estimated one or two months. Complete revamp. We're even changing the name.

Same staff (hopefully), same files, but with a new look.

spoke too soon, there's no guarantee of using the same files.
According to one of the owners, there is a chance that DChaos may never come back.

Let's not lose heart until it's confirmed or denied. After all, it may not come back. That means it also could possibly come back! But a new name, new files and new staff? Strange. Not trying to make accusations or anything, but wouldn't somebody who is trying to escape something do that?

It's possible that we might have new files.
It's possible we might have new staff depending on who stays and who quits or gets fired.

So yes, while it's possible that we will come back, that also means it's possible that we might shut down for good.

Nothing is absolute anymore.

If the server DOES go down, will the forums still stay up? This server's community is cool. I'd hate to see the "family" break apart.

Hmmm.......if this is the case, then if D.Chaos gets shut down......where do we all go from there? Idk many good private servers, as this was my first private server I ever played lol. I sincerely hope that D.Chaos does come back...

Some of the staff will either quit or join at other servers, possibly working there as well. Hell, some of us are already working at other servers together while we await the final verdict on D.Chaos.

Some staff will quit the private server business altogether.

There's no reason to shut down the forums so it'll most likely stay up and we can all hang out here and stuff.

You said that i f if the server comes back up, the name might change. Will the URL of the forum still be dcmsforum.net? I know that's a stupid question, but.... I dunno o.o

Also, Nexon if you are attempting to shut down D.Chaos, (and reading this) you better just leave us alone. I joined D.Chaos because GMS makes us wait 6 months + for new stuff, and you guys can't seem to handle keeping the game up (extended maintenance extended maintenance)! I know it's hard, but if you can't do it I suggest you never put the game up.

The url may change but forum-motion is editable in such a way that we can keep all the posts here and simply change the title, banner, url, etc. give it a new look without compromising the forum.

Imagine new staff<3 I'd be happy for the GM Apps to be open... lol.

You guys know that alpha hates GM apps right? he'll probably pick the candidates himself without the apps.

yeah the possibility of the GM apps reopening is like less than 5%. And there probably some suitable candidates for those spots though.

I'd never be a GM here since I am an asshole since 2011 on the forums c: though I took my precious time and helped buncha noobs.

Not sure if alpha even cares about how you are on the forum as long as he knows you've been helpful

He does, otherwise Jeff would have become a GM when he applied. (He was turned down due to his "personality".)

I do wish I could be a gm ( I probably got "disqualified" for this)

But ever since I lost my data on a popular flash game, with a noob ridden community, I have gotten a strange desire to help people who are denied help from others.

then again.... The GM apps probably wont open.

Any news on if people who donated before changing the dedicated server will be getting their donor status back?

I'm pretty darn sure (or someone can shoot me between the eyes now) that I've mentioned this before. I don't understand why the general masses are so disillusioned about being a GM, the job sucks bad and you get next to nil in the appreciation department.

With that said, kudos to our current existing GMs. Your dedication towards the server and the community deserves a standing ovation *pachi-pachi-pachi*
