Astralis and Pandora

I'm just wondering now that Mike aka [In]Sane is leaving, is the Astralis challenge going to be discontinued? Or is it temporarily on hiatus? Judging from what little tid bits of information I could gather, the art concept is mostly (?) done; which leads me to think that all that's left is the coding portion? If someone would be so kind as to shed some light on it I'd be most grateful

Well, indeed many people were looking forward to Astralis and Pandora but with Mike leaving, there's a chance there won't be any. But since, plans were probably made before...maybe there's a chance it will be coming in 8.2. So, i guess it can be like a 50/50 chance.

Well, we could discuss it with mike if we ever get the chance. We have to determine if Astralis and pandora are mike's intellectual property or DChaos's. And if it's his, do we have permission to do with it what we will? Or are there restrictions to what we can and cannot add/change?


We are also in the process of hiring a new GFX. This position of course gives you GM status, so if anyone sprites, step it up!

So I'm guessing that it'll be on a permanent hiatus?

I can only speculate that it will be delayed since we still have to stabilize the server and add all of our other custom maps first.

I see, still there'll be a tonne of other nooks and cranny for me to explore

The idea will probably be dropped sadly.

We can't make astralis a boss with only one frame.

Pandora's event could possibly happen because mike did sprite the weapons beforehand.

This kinda hard but as a spriter i know the only one can finish Astralis Is Mike/Insane, why? Because is his idea! He know how the mobs will move and how she gonna work, unless he give it to another GFX to finish Astralis is not gonna be good.
Pandora's event Can only be host by Mike/Insane because that is his work! He made them so he the only one allowed to give them Unless he give the Owner or any GFX that permission.

It's sad to hear that Astra-chan will never get the chance to see the light of day, but in regards to Pan-chan; if we asked Mike he might be willing to let us host it. After all letting us use it would be the best way to appreciate Mike and his work, instead of letting it sit on the hard drive to be forgotten

From what I was told, it has been completed for quite sometime and it has been hosted by Mike ([In]sane) before. If we can get permission from Mike to use his stuff then possibly we can still have a another intense boss hunting season
