So, I gave spriting another try after about a month or so...



Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts called 'Oblivion'

Took me a long time but didn't turn out exactly how I wanted to...xP First time trying to shade a sprite properly.

it looks nice but my only problem about it is how its kinda big o3o

Not Bad But the Palette look plain, try to fix that.

The outline itself took around 2 hours. It looked good in my opinion and I was happy with it, but when I started shading and adding details, the quality kind of shitted down. (The blade part looked way better before shading) Shading and adding details took about another 2 hours so, I guess around 4 hours. But I was Skyping while doing it soooo, could've been faster I guess, haha.

I think I know what you mean. I used about 24 colors, (according to this http://hivemind.in/pj/checker/) but I think they were all a bit too dark and the difference between colors wasn't too noticeable. Guess I shouldn't have made it so dark. xD I used the following image in the spoiler as my reference.

Used a bit of gradient shading like you said, on the gem part & some other places I can't spot. Maybe tell me where I used gradient shading in specifics? Think you might be saying this because the colors are a bit too dark. I chose my palette a bit too dark for Maplestory items though : P

Depends on the type of GFX and preference I guess...

People I know who animate use Flash / Fireworks etc. o-o
People I know who sprite use Paint.net / Paint (Basic Windows ver) / SAI / GIMP etc. o-o
People I know who make signatures...IDK WHAT THEY USE. :C

I used Paint.net though, cause it's free/easy/simple. xD
