One time a girl wanted to marry me just for the sake of being married, and she was paying for it. Sure, why not.

As for online dating on D.Chaos. It's a bit unnerving when you hear about older guys dating highschoolers or hell, even younger. But if you really like the person, that doesn't matter to you, does it?

I think online dating is okay. If I were to seriously consider it, I'd have to take a look at the other person just so I know I'm not dating someone whom I wouldn't find attractive. Livewebcam, not a simple picture. And if we're doing pictures, y'gotta holdup a sign that says "hi <username>" so I'd know for sure you're not some fakeass piece of shit trying to get their jollies from fooling people into dating your ugly ass.

By the way, the question seems biased to answer no. "is online dating appropriate?" no context was given.

Also, I'm just going to point out. That although someone's relationship is virtual, that does not mean their feelings are less real or valid.

I don't think very many people play online games just to hook up with someone. That's a stupid line of reasoning. Don't you think it's more the case that people fall in love with others while ingame?

Also, one can pretend, yes. But with free webcamming social services and the increasing ease of uploading photos to the internet, someone with a decent amount of common sense could determine if their partner is really who they say they are, wouldn't you agree?

If you restrict the definition to online dating in a game, of course more people would say no. People play online games primarily for the game, not for the chance to date someone.

You know, I agree with that.

But I think people are just taking it over the boarder line and saying that they really love someone when they don't even know that person for one. I for some how think they show off when they do that, "Oh looky, I have a GF, you don't! F2"

I don't like online dating, I just in D.ChaosMS sit down in a random place in FM, if a girl comes and sits, I'll have a chat, add them.

People go "Wanna be my GF?" That was me at one time. But it's their opinion, and they can choose whether to date online (on a game) or get a girl in real life.

People may be pissed of at what I just said. It's just an opinion, share yours.

One thing that irks me about relationships in online games is if people go on and on about how much they love someone....and they've only been going out for a few weeks. Even worse is if they've never had a real relationship....I really question the validity of their feelings. I'm sure you can name a few people who are like this.

There was a point in time when I still led ImOnTheMooon where a certain player wanted me to be her boyfriend just because I was nice to her. I'm generally nice to everyone unless I'm forced to question their intelligence...anyway it was weird and that was weird and it was awkward.

What I should have said is feel fulfilled. It's just not the same as actually socializing and being with a real person.

I think online dating is alright lols, Its like more then friends but less then lovers... Unless you really take it seriously which not many would. Online dating is just an illusion lols, Just my opinion.
