First Animation Empty First Animation

Post by .,...,,...,...,,,, Wed Jun 06, 2012 2:17 pm

I've recently started animating and made my first animation. When you see the character disappear and reappear, that was just my fail attempt of a teleport. Tell me whatcha think, I was just testing out things in this animation.

First Animation Empty Re: First Animation

That was fairly good for a first animation, the walk cycle was good although I think the character didn't move enough each step. The dash was ok, it looks a bit jumpy, assuming it was all frame by frame. Try using a tween for straight line movement, makes it smoother.

The teleport was actually pretty good, the character reacted to it (a stumble after the teleport). I think the only thing that made you think it was bad was the fact that there were no teleport effects, as they usually accompany teleports in animations.

In all, I think this was a great first effort and I hope you will continue animating and improving.

EDIT: I just noticed. The jump before the dash would look much better if the character wound up or crouched to get ready for the jump. It looks like he just flies into the air all of a sudden.

EDIT2: Oh. If you're going to have a simple, constant background, make sure it's in a seperate, locked layer so you don't accidentally move it during your animation. I noticed the background moves 1 pixel up then down, then 1 pixel up.
